Do you pay rent ?

Claim up to €2,000 in tax refunds if you paid rent for yourself or your child in 2022, 2023, or 2024. Jointly assessed couples can receive up to €2,000 per year for 2024 and up to €1,000 per year for 2022 and 2023.

Are you a single parent?

If you’re caring for a child while living on your own, as a single parent you may be eligible for up to €1,650 in tax credits per year.

Paid fees for third-level education?

You could receive up to €3,200 per academic year for tuition fees as a student or on a student’s behalf.

Working from home?

if you are an Irish taxpayer working from home, there is an opportunity to claim a special tax allowance each year. This covers expenses such as broadband*, lighting, and heating utilities.

Paid for a Dependent Relative or incapacitated child?

Individual caring for dependent or incapacitated child/relatives may qualify for up to €3,500 annually. This rebate, often substantial as €245 for each dependant relative, can be claimed, regardless of their location. (if they reside in Ireland or elsewhere in the world)

Uniform Expenses for the last 4 years?

If you’ve had PAYE employment in the last 4 years, you may be entitled to claim back hundreds in tax for work-related expenses, such as tools, uniforms, laundry and stationery.

Paid for Medical/Dental Expenses?

You may be able to claim back 20% on certain medical, health insurance and non-routine dental expenses.

Nursing Home and Carer Fees

You may claim upto 40% tax relief on nursing home or carer fees paid for yourself or another person.

Rent a Room Relief

The rental income you receive may be exempt from tax.

Do you pay for Mortgage?

If you are a homeowner in 2023 making payments in respect of a qualifying loan for a principal private residence, you may claim upto €1,250.
